Powered Industrial Trucks
There are many types of Powered Industrial Trucks. Those most widely used at Duke include fork lifts, order pickers and motorized pallet jacks. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requires that each Powered Industrial Truck operator be trained and competent.
OESO has developed a training program, which includes a classroom lecture, written exam and an operator's test. Upon successful completion of the training, employees receive an operator's license. Operators are evaluated every 3 years to ensure that they remain skilled and knowledgeable in Powered Industrial Truck safety.
