Lab Safety & Waste Management System: New “Activities” Feature

OESO’s Laboratory Safety and Waste Management System includes a new feature as of August 5, 2024. Principal Investigators and Lab Safety Coordinators will be able to select relevant “activities” for personnel in their labs. Doing so will assign trainings associated with those activities. 

Available activities include:

  • Works at BSL2
  • Uses human materials (including human cell lines)
  • Ships bio-materials or dry ice
  • Uses hearing protection
  • Uses Ladders
  • Lab Ergonomics training requirement (for those doing repetitive or awkward tasks in the lab)

Please keep in mind that anyone with a NetID can log into our Safety Training System and take any of the available trainings by clicking “Courses Available Online” in the upper left and choosing from the alphabetical list. See also our descriptions of Training Requirements for New Researchers.
